Augmentative and Alternative Parent Training Series
We are so excited to offer a four week parent training series to support families around the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication for children who are nonspeaking or minimally verbal. This series is for parents and additional family members. This series will consist of four, 1-hour parent information sessions around topics related to AAC. It will be a combination of discussion and hands-on activities. There will be a time for questions at the end of each session.
These sessions are not designed to have children attend.
The schedule is as follows:
Sunday November 4-5:30-6:45 pm

This session will focus on what AAC is , who can benefit from AAC, and how to go about starting the process of getting AAC for your child.

AAC in Daily Routines
This session will focus on how to incorporate AAC throughout your day, within daily routines and naturally occuring activities. Part of this session will involve families exploring their day and brainstorming what vocabulary could be used, with the support of clinic staff.
The cost for the 4-week session is $60 per family for families of Milestone Pediatric Therapy. For non-Milestone Families, the cost is $75 for the four week session. Checks can be made out to Milestone Pediatric Therapy. Any family member who spends a significant amount of time with your child is encouraged to attend, especially sessions two-four.
