Speech Language Pathologist
Originally from Stockton, Ca, Karla earned her master’s degree from University of the Pacific in speech language pathology in 2016. Karla originally moved to San Diego to work with bilingual Spanish speaking therapists. She began her speech career working in early intervention where she provided therapy and delivered parent education in Spanish. Karla has experience working with individuals from infant to geriatrics on speech and language therapy. Karla is also trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding. She is passionate about working with students and families on developing speech and language skills. Karla believes therapy is most valuable when student progress is supported by family and carried into the home. On her free time, Karla enjoys staying active by playing Ultimate Frisbee, dodge ball, volleyball and running. She enjoys sewing, cooking and karaoke.
